About The Position

We are seeking a dynamic and enthusiastic individual to join the team as a Cybersecurity Engineer. This role offers an opportunity to gain hands-on experience in cybersecurity engineering, with a focus on the DoD Risk Management Framework (RMF) process. The position provides experience with the RMF process used throughout the DoD. The job is located in Waco, Texas, and follows a 9/80 schedule: employees work 9 out of every 14 days, totaling 80 hours, and have every other Friday off.

Requirements

• Be pursuing a bachelor's degree program in engineering, information technology, or a related field, or have completed a bachelor's degree within the last 12 months, regardless of age.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with ISSEs to identify protection needs for systems, software, and networks, and document security controls and requirements for inclusion in system requirements specifications.
• Assist system engineers with overarching system design, focusing on cybersecurity.
• Create and review System Security Plans (SSPs), System/Security Operating Procedures (SOPs), and network and dataflow drawings.
• Verify security control implementation by developing and executing cybersecurity test plans and procedures and using system scanning tools.
