The Associate Industrial Engineer leads engineering activities and establishes a culture of process improvement in the fulfillment and distribution center. The role works with Operations teams to improve efficiency, maintain labor standards, reduce costs, and develop and implement regional and national projects and strategies across the distribution network. The engineer analyzes cost-reduction opportunities and recommends improvements through cost/benefit analysis; designs product flows and department layouts; identifies operational bottlenecks and presents cost-efficient solutions; and advises management or customers on specialized projects. The role supports effective use of distribution and logistics assets and processes, identifies distribution-center capacity impacts across supply-chain parameters, and develops preferred warehouse methods and Standard Operating Procedures with Operational support. The position establishes and maintains standards using MOST and full-cycle frequency studies, and uses labor and material-cost data to support capital-expenditure and process-change ROI, compare alternatives, and communicate process costs to senior management. It also conducts ergonomic evaluations and recommends and implements work-area design improvements. Success requires taking ideas from concept through implementation, influencing stakeholders, managing concurrent priorities and timelines, and collaborating with teams to resolve problems.
