FusionPKG Associate Industrial Designer
About The Position
Fusion Packaging is a market leader in beauty packaging and turnkey formulas. The Associate Industrial Designer works within the Product Design team to develop design assets, including packaging concepts, design prototypes, and product visualizations. The role brings industrial design expertise and a strong sensibility for the beauty industry to the design process and reports to the Creative Director. FusionPKG strongly prefers this position to be based in New York. The position is temporary, with the potential to transition to a permanent full-time role based on business needs and performance. The designer will collaborate with engineering, sales, and design colleagues, develop custom packaging for beauty brand customers, and contribute to the company’s design strategies and development. The role involves hands-on prototyping, product visualization, and working to tight deadlines while maintaining high design standards.
Requirements
- BFA or MFA in Industrial Design or a related field.
- At least 2 years of experience in industrial or product design.
- Beauty brand or packaging experience, or a strong sensibility for the beauty industry.
- Proficiency in Adobe Suite, SolidWorks, and KeyShot.
- Exceptional 3D modeling and visualization capabilities.
- Experience with 3D printing and prototyping.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to communicate clearly and quickly with a wide range of stakeholders.
- Ability to multitask and prioritize among active projects.
- Ability to self-manage and work independently as well as collaboratively.

Responsibilities
- Translate strategic product and company objectives into innovative packaging solutions.
- Develop custom packaging designs for beauty brand customers.
- Visualize packaging concepts through compelling product presentations.
- Collaborate with engineering, sales, and design teams and align on the design narrative and output.
- Create packaging prototypes using 3D printing and other tooling methods.
- Help turn market and competitor insights into internal product analysis.
- Work with design managers, make design decisions, and maintain an on-brand design language and strong attention to detail.
- Contribute to long-term design strategies and company development.
- Work to tight design deadlines and prioritize workload.
- Bring innovative thinking and design expertise to advance the company’s capabilities and standards.
- Stimulate dialogue, inspire colleagues, and remain willing to learn.
