About The Position

This role is part of Alcon's Supply Chain function, a team that manages logistics, inventory management, and supply chain analytics for Alcon's industry leading products to ensure products are delivered efficiently and effectively so that people can see brilliantly. The Associate II, Production Planning, is primarily responsible for maintaining material schedules to support production control, compiling records on material status, and ensuring smooth material flow between departments. You will identify shortages and initiate corrective actions, applying specialized knowledge to achieve project goals at our Manufacturing Facility in Houston, TX.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent years of directly related experience (or high school +8 yrs; Assoc.+4 yrs)
  • The ability to fluently read, write, understand and communicate in English

Responsibilities

  • Maintain schedules for material requirements and availability to support production control.
  • Compile records on the quantity, cost, and type of material received, shipped, in stock, or in production.
  • Support the flow of materials, parts, and assemblies within or between departments according to production and shipping schedules.
  • Determine possible and actual shortages and initiate corrective actions.
  • Apply specialized knowledge to perform tasks and achieve objectives.
  • Follow procedures with some decision-making authority, requiring job-related training, attention to detail, and reliability.
  • Complete all required training and meet individual job requirements.
  • Contribute to the overall compliance of the organization and commit to continuous improvement and compliance with regulatory requirements.
  • Manage production orders.
  • All associates must adhere to GxP regulations by strictly following Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), maintaining accurate and complete documentation, ensuring rigorous quality control, and completing all required training.
  • Associates are responsible for meeting their individual job requirements and contributing to the overall compliance of the organization.
