About The Position

RS&H is currently seeking a Federal Planning Associate II to join our team in our Colorado Springs, CO office. You’ll work from your local office and travel with our team to collect data, convert it into information, and make recommendations. No two days are the same as you investigate new problems, large amounts of data, and questions that come up along the way. Projects will be diverse and may include vision plans, district plans, area development plans, master plans, neighborhood plans, strategic facilities plans, facility utilization studies, capital investment strategies, project development and validation, and other products for federal agencies and other clients.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in urban planning, architecture, civil engineering, or a related field.
  • At least 3 years of prior experience in this field.
  • Love for problem-solving.
  • Attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Proactive and deadline-oriented attitude.
  • Experience with Microsoft Office.
  • Basic knowledge of planning software.
  • Willingness to travel (approximately 12 times per year).
  • Must be a US person per client requirement.

Nice To Haves

  • Adobe InDesign and Illustrator skills.
  • Familiarity with the use of Geographic Information Systems.
  • Experience creating plan graphics and visualizations.
  • Familiarity with Department of Defense land use, planning, and programming standards and processes.
  • AICP Certification
  • LEED Accreditation
  • Prior military service or former federal employment

Responsibilities

  • Collect data and convert it into information.
  • Make recommendations based on data analysis.
  • Investigate new problems and large amounts of data.
  • Create maps, exhibits, presentation materials, and reports.
  • Manage time daily to meet deadlines.
  • Perform master planning tasks.
  • Work on multiple project teams.
