This entry-level position plays a crucial role in the daily operations of our Distribution Center, contributing to the efficient handling of materials and finished goods. Requirements

  • High School diploma/GED degree preferred.
  • At least 1-2 years of prior distribution or warehouse experience.
  • Experience with barcode scanners and printers.
  • Ability to read, speak, and comprehend English instructions, correspondence, and memos.
  • Ability to write simple correspondence.
  • Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations.
  • Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
  • Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations.
  • Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions.
  • Ability to deal with problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations.
  • Must satisfy credentialing requirements of Sysmex’s customers, which generally includes proof of current vaccinations for measles, mumps, rubella, varicella (chicken pox), and COVID-19.

Responsibilities

  • Assist in daily activities within the Distribution Center, including inbound (receiving), inventory control, production support, put away, storing, cycle counting, packing, and shipping of materials and/or finished goods.
  • Ensure the cleanliness and safety of the warehouse, maintaining a safety-oriented culture.
  • Contribute to the continuous improvement process through recommendations and implementation of approved projects.
  • Load and unload inbound and outbound trailers, trucks, and vans, ensuring safety devices are utilized and procedures are followed.
  • Conduct daily cycle counts and physical inventories.
  • Consolidate product to optimize warehouse space.
  • Monitor warehouse inventory levels and replenish inventory into warehouse racking.
  • Assist the warehouse team in meeting productivity requirements.
  • Prepare items according to customer packaging, labeling, and shipping requirements, including picking and packing orders.
  • Operate material handling equipment such as vertical balers, pallet jacks, two-wheel carts, bar code scanners, conveyors, air machines, and sealed air systems (excluding industrial lift trucks until certified).
  • Follow guidelines and directions from the Distribution Management Team and perform other assigned duties.
  • Interface with internal and external customers on continuous improvement opportunities.
  • Learn the roles and responsibilities of Distribution Associate Level 2.
  • Multi-task proactively and re-prioritize daily to accommodate changing business requirements.
  • Participate in continuous improvement projects and cost-saving measures.
  • Follow distribution procedures in accordance with cGXP, FDA, OSHA, IATA, DOT, TSA, and other applicable regulations.
  • Assist in keeping the department audit-ready at all times.
  • Ensure the quality and integrity of personal time records and contribute to reducing expenses.
  • Follow all safety standards and training, ensuring the building is maintained in a clean and safe manner.
  • Protect inventories and equipment against theft, fire, and other hazards.
  • Maintain housekeeping duties and designated aisles.
  • Demonstrate good customer service to all departments through timely movement of goods.
  • Follow up on issues and concerns of internal and external customers.
  • Promote a customer-centric environment.
