About The Position

The Health Services Director supports the Health Services Director in their day-to-day responsibilities, assists in overseeing care staff, and assists with care planning.

Requirements

  • A Licensure Practical Nurse (LPN).
  • At least 5 to 7 years of experience in a similar role or in a related healthcare management position.
  • Exceptional communication skills in English, enabling effective interaction with residents and staff through both verbal and written means.
  • Proficient with electronic health record software.
  • Proficient in various software programs like Microsoft Word, Excel, Google, and adept with handheld devices and provided software.
  • Deep understanding of healthcare practices geriatric care, and chronic disease management relevant to elderly residents.
  • Knowledge of state and federal regulations affecting assisted living facilities, including licensing requirements and compliance standards.
  • Leadership and supervisory experience, with the ability to manage and mentor a diverse team, resolving conflicts as they arise.
  • Knowledge of methods to implement and manage quality assurance programs that monitor and improve care services.
  • Familiarity with medication administration protocols, drug interactions, and pharmacy regulations.
  • Ability to provide physical assistance and support to residents with mobility challenges.
  • Proficiency in maintaining accurate records and documenting observations.
  • Capability to remain calm and compassionate in challenging situations, with a pleasant demeanor.
  • Problem-solving abilities to promptly address concerns or complaints, with the ability to quickly pivot from one task to the next.
  • Skills in developing strategies to improve service delivery, enhance resident satisfaction, and optimize staff performance.
  • Capable of making informed decisions reflecting the best interests of the residents and facility.
  • Maintain ongoing education and training, attending all departmental & in-staff services as required.

Nice To Haves

  • Additional coursework or certifications in healthcare management, leadership, or administration may be beneficial.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee care staff and provide guidance and mentoring as required to ensure high-quality staff.
  • Assist in the development and implementation of care plans for residents.
  • Ensure the environment is safe, supportive, and conducive to the well-being of residents.
  • Ensure records and documentation related to resident care and facility operations are compliant.
  • Conduct regular assessments of residents’ needs and assist in adjusting care plans accordingly.
  • Handle inquiries and concerns from residents and their families, providing support and guidance.
  • Foster a positive and supportive work environment for staff members, encouraging teamwork.
  • Ensure compliance with regulatory standards and guidelines related to resident care.
