About The Position

The Associate Head Wrestling Coach will be responsible for assisting the head coach in the successful execution in planning, developing and administering all phases of the men’s wrestling program. All duties and responsibilities are governed by state, federal and university policy.

Requirements

Bachelor’s Degree
At least three (3) years coaching experience at the Division I level
Knowledge of NCAA, conference and University rules
Ability to interact in a professional manner with people and present a positive image of the University
Ability to physically work out students in practice and warm them up for competition meets
Proficient knowledge of Microsoft Word and Excel
Must have a good driving record, a valid driver’s license and proof of insurance
Ability to work nights and weekends with extensive travel
Proof of legal authority to work in the United States on the first day of employment

Responsibilities

Supervise student-athletes during practices and matches, observing and evaluating performance and demonstrating proper techniques
Act as the lead recruiter and maintain a database of high-quality freshman and transfer student-athletes
Scout assigned opponents as assigned by the head coach
Assist the head coach with budget preparation, including scholarship and revenue share offers
Coordinate team travel arrangements
Monitor academic progress towards degree for student-athletes
Plan and implement training programs for student-athletes
Physically demonstrate all wrestling moves with student-athletes during practice as well as run through drills, evaluate and provide corrective instruction
Compliance with all NCAA, conference and institutional rules
Perform other duties as assigned
