About The Position

In close collaboration with the Head Cross Country and Track & Field Coach, the Associate Head Coach for Track & Field/Coordinator of Strength & Conditioning helps manage and lead of all facets of the Men’s and Women’s Indoor and Outdoor Track & Field Programs including, but not limited to, coaching and teaching, recruiting, administration, scheduling of competitions, team travel, weekly practice sessions, community service, student development, facility oversight, and compliance with NCAA and conference rules and regulations. The position is also responsible for development and oversight of the Strength & Conditioning Program, training and supervision of graduate interns assigned to workout session supervision, and planning and maintenance of the Varsity weight room. This is a full-time, 12-month position.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree required; master’s preferred.
  • Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist (CSCS) certification preferred or obtain CSCS certification within 6-12 months of hire.
  • Experience in sprints and jump event training and technique evaluation strongly preferred.
  • Strong organizational skills and computer literacy required, including familiarity with EMR software.
  • Appropriate certifications in First Aid/CPR and AED are required within an appropriate time of hire and must be completed (per NCAA regulations) before the beginning of the competitive season.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills, strong interpersonal skills to work with various college constituencies.
  • Ability to work a flexible and irregular schedule.
  • Ability to work well as a team member or independently.
  • Ability to prioritize multiple tasks with attention to detail, problem solving and follow-through to consistently meet expectations and deadlines.

Responsibilities

  • Assist in student-athlete recruitment commensurate with the aims and goals of Regis College and appropriate for a NCAA Division III institution.
  • Help plan, coordinate, and execute, day-to-day training and meet preparation for student-athletes to successfully perform in intercollegiate competitions.
  • Work closely with Head Coach to develop meet strategy and event participation decisions for student-athletes.
  • Assist in the development of the team budget and coordination of tracking team expenses and fundraising goals.
  • Support the tracking of academic progress of the program’s student-athletes and provide appropriate advice and assistance to help ensure the successful completion of each athlete’s program of study.
  • Coordinate off-site practice venues for indoor track and field season.
  • Ensure that the team and individual student-athletes follow the rules and regulations governing competition at the collegiate level and adhere to the expectations and standards established by Regis College, the Great Northeast Athletics Conference, and the NCAA.
  • Participate in Department of Athletics staff meetings or functions and complete other duties as assigned by the Director of Athletics.
  • Design annual and periodized training programs for individual athletes and sport-specific groups across all competition phases.
  • Coach and supervise weight room sessions in collaboration with graduate interns assigned to workout session supervision.
  • Collaborate with sports medicine staff to develop return-to-play protocols and modified training for injured athletes.
  • Communicate athlete readiness and training adaptation data to head coaches.
  • Develop and manage strength and conditioning budgets, equipment purchases, and facility upgrades.
  • Maintain training facility equipment in safe working condition and ensure proper equipment usage protocols are followed.
  • Oversee the space planning and maintenance of the Varsity weight room.
  • Supervise, train, and evaluate graduate interns and support staff for the Strength & Conditioning Program and Track & Field Program.

Benefits

  • Compensation: $46,000 - $50,000 annually.
