About The Position

Sanford Health, the largest rural health system in the United States, is dedicated to transforming the health care experience and providing access to world-class health care in America’s heartland. This is a substitute guest services associate position providing coverage for door greeters at our Fargo/Moorhead Clinics/medical centers during planned and unplanned time off. The role offers flexible scheduling based on individual availability, allowing employees to pick up shifts based on their daily schedule. On average, employees can expect to work between 5 and 12 shifts per month. The primary function is to greet and assist patients, families, and visitors courteously, creating a positive first and last impression. The role requires outstanding front-line customer service, professionalism, and tact, especially during stressful and busy periods.

Requirements

High school diploma or equivalent preferred.

Responsibilities

Greets and assists patients, families, and visitors in a courteous manner.
Responds to patients with empathy using positive interpersonal skills.
Directs patients, family members, visitors, and guests to patient hospital departments, clinics, and other Sanford locations.
Monitors traffic in patient drop-off areas.
Provides city information to patients and visitors about available lodging and area businesses.
Possesses the ability to push a wheelchair and understand the proper use of body mechanics.
Occasionally assists with pushing a patient, family member, or visitor in a wheelchair to desired areas.
Assists healthcare staff in discharging patients.
Keeps the lobby in reasonable order.
Possesses the ability to work outside in all kinds of environmental elements.
Demonstrates the ability to problem-solve.
Displays the ability to use good judgment during unusual circumstances.
Displays a positive attitude and the ability to learn quickly, adapting to change.
Communicates effectively with patients, family members, visitors, and others.
