About The Position

Northrop Grumman Aeronautics Systems has opportunities for an Associate Guidance Navigation Control Engineer OR Guidance Navigation Control Engineer to join our team in San Diego, CA! This position can be filled at either the Associate GNC Engineer level or the GNC Engineer level, depending upon the qualifications below.

Requirements

Bachelor of Science degree in a relevant STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics) discipline with 0 years of related engineering experience (for Associate GNC Engineer)
Bachelor of Science degree in a relevant STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics) discipline with 2 years of related engineering experience; OR a Master of Science degree in a relevant STEM discipline with 0 years of related engineering experience (for GNC Engineer)
Ability to obtain and maintain a US Government Secret clearance
Ability to obtain and maintain Special Program Access (SAP). This SAP must be obtained within a reasonable amount of time as determined by the company to meet its business needs.
U.S. Citizenship is required for all positions with a government clearance and certain other restricted positions.

Responsibilities

Designs, develops, implements, verifies, and tests algorithms and software and simulation tools to perform guidance, navigation and control of aircraft
Statistical processing of measured data points and their substitution into algorithms simulating physical reality.
Formulation of specific equations to achieve a desired position, orientation, or orbit.
Control design and analyses processes consist of the development of the control laws and hardware and software requirements for aircraft.
