About The Position

Associate Global Service and Support Engineer Primary responsibilities include support of internal instrument systems used for design and development of Abbott Molecular Products, design, conduct and lead projects enhancing product usability and serviceability and providing technical support for Abbott Molecular Products. The role requires providing direct and onsite technical support for internal Abbott teams—including R&D, QC, IPS, TPS, Complaints Investigations, and Scientific Affairs—to obtain successful resolutions for internal system needs. Creation of service documentation comprises a core responsibility ranging from small procedural documentation modifications through to large sections of service manuals and comparable records. Multiple service and support related projects involvement is required, a number of which need to be led, many of which comprise cross functional teams.

Requirements

  • Associate's degree or equivalent certification in Science, Engineering, Allied Health or scientific or engineering related field
  • Minimum 4 years of work experience in clinical laboratory, biomedical engineering, diagnostic medical equipment servicing, or related service or laboratory field.

Responsibilities

  • Responsible for implementing and maintaining the effectiveness of the quality system.
  • Creates technical documentation.
  • Participates in projects involving support and service of assigned products.
  • Performs assignments of a wide degree of difficulty.
  • Provides input to the product teams regarding development of new designs, methods, or processes.
  • Recommends changes to existing programs.
  • Creates, updates, and maintains technical documentation.
  • Performs CR approval and technical sign-off for service and support of assigned projects.
  • Provides problem resolution for technical product support.
  • Develops and/or provides input into Field Service tools for use in the field to service Abbott Molecular instrumentation.
  • Provides technical support for QC instruments used in manufacturing global product, including diagnostics, troubleshooting, calibration, and partnership with manufacturing operations to ensure consistent product quality.
  • Maintains accurate and timely documentation of all system activities and service actions in accordance with Abbott’s Quality System, a critical requirement for regulatory compliance, traceability, product lifecycle oversight, and informed internal decision‑making.
