About The Position

This examination is being given to fill one vacancy in the Office of the Agricultural Commissioner and to establish an eligible list to fill future vacancies. Responsibilities

Provides professional support in programming, testing, implementing and maintaining geographic information systems and applications across multiple platforms.
Creates various maps, reports, charts and other materials from multiple layers of data; imports, updates and creates datasets; performs geospatial analysis; ensures the integrity of geographic information systems data; reviews data input for accuracy and compliance with system standards; provides cartographic products.
Learns to maintain and support geographic information systems, networks and applications; responds to routine client calls and requests for minor system, network or application programming modifications.
Learns to administer geographic information systems in order to develop and enhance system servers, printers, workstations and related hardware/software functionality.
Learns to serve as database administrator and to plan, design and implement relational databases through utilization of appropriate design tools.
Creates technical documentation and instructional materials to assist clients in the use of system applications.
Attends and participates in professional group meetings; stays abreast of new trends and innovations in the field of geographic information systems technology.
