As an Associate General Manager on Via’s Operations team, you’ll be responsible for managing operations using our innovative technology platform. You’ll manage a team of local field operators focused on daily operations, driving continuous operational and quality improvements, and growing our services. This is a fully in-person position with the expectation that you will be onsite 4-5 days per week. There may be a need for early mornings or evenings.

Requirements

  • Minimum of 4-6 years of operations management experience.
  • Bachelor's degree.
  • Independent self-starter, comfortable in fast-paced environments with a high level of responsibility.
  • Savvy and tactful communicator.
  • Detail-oriented executor, action-oriented, and thrives operating autonomously.
  • Experienced and exceptional leader with extensive experience leading support teams.
  • Flexible and adaptable, able to adapt to change rapidly and make things work on the fly.
  • Problem solver, always looking for creative solutions.
  • Based in the Baton Rouge, LA area or willing to relocate.

Responsibilities

  • Manage the daily onsite operations of our service, ensuring smooth operations for safe, reliable, and accessible transportation.
  • Make informed, real-time decisions about fleet, driver supply, compliance, rider needs, and unexpected issues to ensure excellent and dependable service.
  • Manage the full employee lifecycle for drivers, including scheduling, PTO approvals, daily inquiries, performance conversations, and adherence to workplace policies.
  • Manage driver work schedules to ensure adequate vehicle availability to meet demand.
  • Act as the operational bridge between city partners, drivers, unions, community leaders, and local organizations.
  • Use data and technology to understand service performance, diagnose problems, and implement solutions to enhance efficiency and rider experience.
  • Ensure compliance with all relevant federal, state, local, and company policies, procedures, and regulations on service operations.
  • Lead, coach, and develop an engaged team of drivers, fostering a collaborative, cohesive, and energetic environment.
