About The Position

Reporting to the Senior VP and General Counsel, you will provide counsel in all types of legal matters relating to the operation of MLH and its subsidiaries and affiliates including: health care regulatory matters, labor and employment, contracts of all types, medical staff affairs, corporate governance, clinical and basic research, health care fraud and abuse, managed care contracting, health care privacy and security, patient care concerns, quality and patient safety, bioethical issues, billing & reimbursement, and transactional matters. Interact with Service Line leaders and hospital Presidents, compliance, and other members of the legal department. You will furnish advice and negotiate and document the Corporation’s agreements to address relevant legal, regulatory, financial, insurance, tax and operational issues, furthering a broad array of enterprise risk management and corporate compliance objectives. Use your effective communication and facilitation skills to organize and deliver training seminars and other presentations on varied topics to the Corporation’s employees and members of the medical staff while supporting the General Counsel and Senior Counsel in all legal matters, complex transactions, and governance/business issues.

Requirements

  • 5-10 years of legal experience with 5 or more in the area of health care law
  • Anti-Kickback Statute and Stark Law knowledge and experience required
  • Member of Pennsylvania Bar or eligible to wave into PA

Nice To Haves

  • Experience in a large law firm setting is preferred.
  • Two years of experience may be credited for clinical, health care administrative or other highly relevant work experience.
