About The Position

Ready to drive what is next in privacy and AI at a company transforming the real estate industry? Join MRI Software's global legal team, where you won't just practice law — you'll drive innovation at the intersection of technology, data, and business strategy. This role puts you at the center of a global operation, partnering with stakeholders across the business and around the world. About the Role This isn't your typical privacy counsel role. We're looking for a bold, creative senior attorney who thrives at the cutting edge of law, business, technology, and data. Our attorneys tackle big, complex challenges — from consumer privacy to artificial intelligence governance — and you'll be right in the middle of the action. You won't be starting from scratch — we've built strong privacy and compliance programs, and we need someone who can take them to the next level. As a subject matter expert and go-to business partner, you'll deliver strategic legal guidance on privacy, emerging technologies, risk, compliance, and AI governance that directly shapes how we innovate. If you're someone who combines sharp legal instincts with strong business acumen and wants to leave a real mark on how a global company navigates the AI revolution, this is your opportunity.

Requirements

  • J.D. from an accredited law school is required, along with active bar membership in good standing (or regional equivalent).
  • Candidates must have 7+ years of experience in an in-house law department, with at least 5 years focused on privacy law.
  • Management experience is required.
  • Authorization to work in the applicable jurisdiction is required.

Nice To Haves

  • CIPP certifications are preferred.
  • You've built real expertise in data governance, technology product counseling, privacy, compliance strategy development, and commercial operations.
  • You have deep knowledge of global privacy frameworks and a knack for translating complex regulatory requirements into clear, actionable business guidance.
  • You've not only built programs from the ground up — you've optimized and scaled existing ones to meet evolving business needs.

Responsibilities

  • Be a go-to advisor for business partners navigating global, state, and federal privacy, and cybersecurity laws.
  • Elevate and evolve our established privacy programs that power enterprise-wide compliance strategies.
  • Lead privacy and data security due diligence efforts with confidence and precision.
  • Shape technology product development and commercial operations — including rolling up your sleeves on commercial contracting when needed.
  • Handle sensitive and confidential matters with discretion, sound judgment, and professionalism.
  • Take on new challenges as they arise — because in this role, no two days look the same.

Benefits

  • Join our employee-led resource groups to maximize your experience at work.
  • Add 16 extra hours to your time off to shorten your workday as part of our Flex at MRI program.
  • Utilize 16 hours of paid time to volunteer.
  • Our generous employee referral scheme rewards you for bringing in talent.
  • Enjoy peace of mind with our regional-specific healthcare benefits for you and your family.
  • Our Parental Leave and parental support perks allow you to grow your family comfortably as an MRI employee.
  • Maintain a fantastic work-life balance with PTO days plus observed holidays.
  • Further your professional development and growth with our tuition reimbursement offerings.
  • Enjoy the flexibility of working from anywhere in the world for two weeks out of the year.
