About The Position

Our Associate General Counsel will support our business with all regulatory and legal matters. They will be responsible for overseeing title-related legal projects as well as servicing and other loan-level litigation. This position requires 100% on-site attendance at our headquarters in Pontiac, MI.

Requirements

Michigan bar licensed attorney
Litigation experience
Experience in overseeing and litigating servicing and other loan-level cases
Experience performing corporate legal work
Experience in the mortgage banking, banking, loan servicing, or financial industry
Strong leadership and communication skills
Effective planning, organizational and project management skills
Able to manage multiple projects and tasks effectively
High level of attention to detail and accuracy
Excellent written and communication skills
Ability to work independently
Critical thinking, analytical and problem solving skills
Self-motivated and able to work well in a team based environment

Responsibilities

Focus on Mortgage Servicing Litigation
Providing business support on a variety of regulatory and legal matters
Interpreting legislation and regulations affecting mortgage brokers and lenders
Reviewing business relationships with vendors
Conducting legal research on unique legal issues impacting the organization
Keeping abreast of legislative changes that may affect the Company
Performing pre-litigation work to minimize risks and maximize legal rights
Providing legal training to Company team members
