The University of Alabama School of Law seeks qualified applicants for the position of Professor of Legal Writing at the rank of Associate or Full Professor. The successful candidate must demonstrate a strong commitment to the growth, development, and improvement of the legal writing program. The duties of a Legal Writing professor include teaching two sections in the first-year legal writing program and developing an upper-level writing or drafting course. If a candidate is appointed to serve as Director of Alabama Law's Legal Writing Program and/or Director of the Moot Court Program, they may have a reduced teaching load and additional responsibilities as assigned. This is a 9-month position on a contract basis with an initial three-year term, which is renewable. The Director of Legal Writing will guide the development and improvement of the legal writing program and support the legal writing faculty. The Director of the Moot Court Program will oversee the coordination and execution of the Alabama Law 2L Moot Court Competition and serve as the primary advisor to the Moot Court Board.
