About The Position

At Wealthsimple, we take our clients' security seriously. The Fraud Investigations team is the front line of defense within our Security & Risk group. We are looking for a sharp, detail-obsessed Fraud Investigator to specialize in Account Takeover (ATO) and Identity Fraud. You will be the detective protecting our clients from bad actors, securing compromised accounts, and ensuring our platform remains a safe place to build wealth.

Requirements

  • Minimum 1 year of direct fraud experience (experience specifically touching ATO, identity verification, or account security is a massive asset!).
  • Demonstrated understanding of fraud management frameworks, controls, and prevention systems within the financial services space.
  • The ability to collect, organize, and analyze datasets with precision and accuracy.
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills.

Responsibilities

  • Investigate & Protect: Dive into the weeds of suspected Account Takeover (ATO) and Identity fraud cases. You will evaluate alerts, verify identities, and piece together digital footprints to uncover the truth.
  • Secure & Remediate: Take immediate, decisive action to lock down compromised accounts, stop fraudulent activity in its tracks, and remediate the situation based on industry best practices.
  • Guide the Client: Communicate directly with clients who may be panicked about a compromised account. You will guide them through the recovery process with absolute empathy, clarity, and urgency.
  • Manage the Queue: Act as a master multi-tasker, managing multiple ongoing investigations at once while strictly maintaining case-closure Service Level Agreements (SLAs).
  • Connect the Dots: Participate in weekly calibration sessions with your peers to share findings, spot new ATO trends, and help the team stay one step ahead of the fraudsters.
