About The Position

The Associate Fleet Operations Specialist supports the business to ensure the fleet is ready to be deployed and safe to operate on public roads. Reporting to the Fleet Management Supervisor, the Associate Fleet Operations Specialist communicates between Autonomous Vehicle (AV) Testing Operations, Test Engineering, and Engineering teams for daily utilization of AV Fleet resources. Key responsibilities include facilitating fleet readiness activities such as ensuring repairs, maintenance, and updates are conducted safely and promptly, along with keeping cross-functional stakeholders informed. This position requires strong communication skills, attention to detail, and a commitment to maintaining high safety standards and operational efficiency at all times.

Requirements

  • 2+ years of experience in the automotive industry or similar fleet logistics

Responsibilities

  • Input and track daily vehicle scheduling/rotation/planning in support of all fleet operations
  • Perform maintenance work order creation, inspection documentation and logging
  • Utilize Fleetio, Jira, Slack and various G Suite applications to support fleet operations
  • Review vehicle statuses, flag out of service units, assign and/or escalate work orders
  • Multi-site logistics coordination scheduling vehicle pickups/drop-offs for service and repair
  • Multi-site support of R&D/Test operations via pack/ship of hardware or special project equipment
  • Multi-site inventory management duties such as stockroom/parts organization and supply orders
  • Author, update, and maintain documentation/databases related to fleet readiness and repair
  • Facilitate and create SOP’s, checklists, and internal service bulletins
  • Document technical notes, flag real-time AV events, and support triage/resolution processes
  • Incident response actions to include documentation, manual vehicle retrieval, and team coord/handoff (Legal, Safety, Calibration, etc.)
  • Maintain in-vehicle camera monitoring systems via functionality verification and troubleshooting
  • Work with vendors to draft purchase requisitions for parts, repairs, towing, logistics, etc.
  • Provide field support as needed for AV recovery
