About The Position

Sciens Building Solutions is seeking an Associate Fire Alarm Inspector to assist with inspection and maintenance capabilities. The position works closely with the sales team, field project teams, and clients to help ensure customer systems are inspected and maintained in a code-compliant manner. It is a key role on a growing team and requires attention to detail when executing projects. Customer and employee interactions require effective human relations, along with strong verbal and written communication skills.

Requirements

High school diploma or equivalent.
Interest in learning and growing in the fire-life safety industry.
Ability to obtain knowledge of NFPA code requirements.
Knowledge of OSHA safety standards and ability to obtain OSHA 10 certifications.
Good organizational, decision-making, and communication skills.
Physical ability to perform demanding trade work, including frequent lifting of up to 25 pounds and occasional lifting of up to 50 pounds; working at heights and climbing ladders; and standing and walking for most of the workday.
Ability to work under tight deadlines and with a sense of urgency.
Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation.

Responsibilities

Assist with reviewing system layouts and coordinating with the systems and service departments for successful testing and inspection.
Assist with testing and maintaining fire alarm systems.
Assist with delivering testing on schedule and within cost budgets.
Log and transmit inspection reports using a technical device.
Work under tight deadlines.
Comply with industry standards and procedures and Sciens safety programs and policies.
