About The Position

This role involves assisting in the structuring of various credit solutions for clients, including acquisition financings, leveraged and investment-grade loans, bridge facilities, and corporate revolvers. The Associate will prepare credit submissions and supporting documentation, manage pipelines, and support transactions from underwriting through closing and ongoing monitoring. The position requires conducting financial analysis, building financial models, and providing coverage support for designated clients to identify cross-sell opportunities. Collaboration with internal teams such as Investment Banking, Debt Capital Markets, Leveraged Finance, and Fixed Income Sales & Trading is essential. The role also includes monitoring client, industry, and market performance, assisting with internal credit administration, and liaising with middle and back-office functions for seamless execution. Engagement with Risk Management and Credit Portfolio Management teams is also a key part of the role.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Economics, Finance, Mathematics, or other quantitative discipline
  • Minimum 3+ years of relevant experience in Corporate Lending, Corporate Finance, Financial Institutions Banking, or Credit Analysis
  • Strong financial modeling skills, including experience with complex capital structures and covenant frameworks
  • Superior writing and presentation skills with ability to prepare detailed credit memoranda
  • Strong analytical skills with ability to assess risks (e.g., reimbursement exposure, regulatory risk, payer mix dynamics)
  • Excellent interpersonal and relationship management skills
  • Ability to take initiative, operate independently, and thrive in a team-oriented environment
  • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple transactions and competing deadlines
  • Formal credit training

Responsibilities

  • Assist in structuring acquisition financings, leveraged and investment-grade loans, bridge facilities, corporate revolvers, and other credit solutions for clients.
  • Prepare credit submissions and supporting documentation related to the transaction approval process, including Loan syndications, Pipeline management, Single-name credit strategies, and Exceptions Committee memoranda.
  • Support transactions from underwriting through closing and ongoing monitoring.
  • Structure and monitor syndicated and bilateral loan transactions.
  • Conduct financial analysis and build/maintain detailed financial models, including cash flow projections, covenant analysis, and downside scenarios.
  • Provide coverage support for designated clients, identifying cross-sell opportunities across all active Capital Markets products.
  • Partner closely with Investment Banking, Debt Capital Markets, Leveraged Finance, and Fixed Income Sales & Trading teams.
  • Monitor client, industry, and market performance, particularly regulatory developments, reimbursement trends, M&A activity, and credit deterioration risks.
  • Assist with internal credit administration, including ongoing portfolio monitoring and industry trend analysis.
  • Liaise with middle and back-office functions to ensure seamless execution of wires, settlements, and documentation processes.
  • Engage Risk Management and Credit Portfolio Management teams in credit underwriting, approvals, amendments, and ongoing monitoring.
