About The Position

Global Compliance's mission is to prevent, detect, and mitigate compliance, regulatory, and reputational risks across the firm, thereby strengthening the firm's culture of compliance. This is achieved through an enterprise-wide compliance risk management program. As an independent control function and part of the firm’s second line of defense, Compliance assesses risks, monitors adherence to laws and regulations, designs and implements controls, policies, procedures, and training, conducts independent testing, and investigates potential breaches. The team comprises individuals with diverse backgrounds in law, accounting, sales, and trading, valuing sound judgment, curiosity, and adaptability. The Financial Crime Compliance (FCC) division is responsible for the firm’s Anti-Money Laundering (AML), anti-bribery, and government sanctions compliance programs. This includes performing enhanced due diligence, government sanctions screening, and surveillance and investigations to identify potential terrorist financing, money laundering, bribery, market abuse, or other suspicious activities. FCC is seeking an individual for its FCC Data, Systems and Innovation team to support the implementation and operation of transaction monitoring surveillance models, model tuning, and building AML Analytics across the firm’s businesses. This role involves collaboration with cross-divisional partners in technology, operations, and business units throughout the strategic and tactical development of a critical transaction monitoring program.

Requirements

  • 3-5 years of prior experience in an analytical role in Financial Crimes Compliance, preferably in Global Transaction Banking, Corporate Cash Management and/or Payment’s business
  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering/technology with relevant work experience
  • Understanding of AML and terrorist financing trends and typologies
  • Knowledge of and experience with the latest AML transaction monitoring technology
  • Experience of working on AML Transaction Monitoring product implementations, such as Actimize and Mantas; preferably modern transaction monitoring systems leveraging machine learning algorithms for detection
  • Hands-on experience developing, tuning, and validating ML models (e.g., XGBoost, Random Forest, Clustering)
  • Strong knowledge of databases, SQL scripts and querying large data sets
  • Experience with Data Lake, Data Bricks, Tableau, Excel and/or other data analytics/visualization tools
  • Ability to deal with data models and work on mapping data across platforms
  • Excellent organization and project management skills – ability to execute and manage a project independently
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, ability to adapt to new changes and new challenges

  • Capturing, analyzing and documenting business requirements and functional specifications
  • Data sourcing, data analysis and identifying data requirements
  • Assist in development and implementation of AML Analytics
  • Assist in integration of Machine Learning and Artificial Intelligence ML/AI into AML Models
  • Data and surveillance validation planning and execution
  • Conduct investigative and Testing reviews of FCC’s controls and related partnered controls
  • Draft detailed investigative and Testing reports, including opinions, findings and corrective action plans
  • Utilize and apply statistical measures, machine learning algorithms to track and improve efficiency of Anti-Money Laundering (AML) surveillances
  • Documentation of project artifacts for Compliance testing, Model Validation, regulatory and audit purposes
