About The Position

The Finance team provides a broad range of timely, accurate, relevant, and objective financial information, advice, and services to its business partners, with commitment to the highest professional and ethical standards. The Finance management team is looking to add a high-performing, versatile team player to our group. Over the course of 18 months, you will rotate through various groups within the Finance team including Corporate Accounting, Financial Planning, Financial Analysis, Hedge Fund Accounting & Asset Allocation, Fund Reporting, Private Investment Accounting, and Payroll & Portfolio Manager Compensation.

Requirements

  • 2-4 years of professional experience in public accounting, asset management, corporate finance and/or a relevant field.
  • Strong Excel skills to help enhance and streamline current processes.
  • Strategic approach to tackling complex problems, building thorough financial and analytical models, and performing high-quality research.
  • Comfort working closely with various levels of senior management with the ability to guide projects and teams.
  • Ability to thrive a fast-paced environment with a desire to broaden your skill set at an accelerated pace.
  • Adaptability to navigate ongoing changes in business needs and adjust approach accordingly.
  • Intellectual curiosity and interest in learning about different aspects of finance and accounting.
  • Commitment to the highest ethical standards.

Responsibilities

  • Own a broad range of complex processes, including forecasting, budgeting, preparing financial statements, managing system implementations, financial modeling, regulatory reporting and working with external auditors on complex accounting topics, calculating contractual performance bonuses, and return analysis.
  • Partner with finance and cross-functional teams to implement new techniques and lead process improvements across financial reporting, accounting, and forecasting, leveraging thoughtful analytics to investigate issues and identify solutions.
  • Present analytical findings in a clear, concise, and compelling manner that will guide action plans.
  • Collaborate with various teams and colleagues on day-to-day financial operations, including the month-end close process, investor risk reporting, portfolio team compensation, and monthly financial reporting.
  • Gain exposure to multiple areas of the firm by learning directly from senior finance team members and industry experts.
  • Develop a comprehensive understanding of the backbone of a successful hedge fund, including the team’s ability to efficiently report, account, analyze, and compensate.
