We are currently looking for an Associate Field Technician/Field Technician/Sr. Field Technician in Sterlington, LA. JOB PURPOSE: This position is responsible for the operation and maintenance of all pipeline facilities in and around the Sterlington area. The successful candidate will be required to comply with all Company, DOT, OSHA, and Environmental rules and regulations. They will be responsible for learning and functioning within our Company OMS process for documenting job functions as required. Occasionally required to perform unscheduled or emergency work. Position will be required to learn all Pipeline ROW Routes and learn to handle all encroachment activities as well as perform in a lead role and direct the actions of others when fully qualified. Position candidate will be required to learn to operate our compressor station, be self-motivated and work with limited supervision. Also, candidate will be required to participate in the On-Call duties for Pipeline emergencies and call outs to Sterlington Compressor station. Normal work hours for this position are 7:00 AM – 3:30 PM EST Monday – Friday, however this position is subject to occasional schedule adjustments as needed. The successful candidate for this position will be required to live within 30 miles of Sterlington compressor station 1475 Keystone Road, Sterlington La.

Nice To Haves

  • A minimum of one year of high pressure gas pipeline operations experience
  • Familiarity with DOT (PHMSA) pipeline regulations
  • Experience with manual and pneumatic operated pipeline valves
  • Experience and training with hazardous material emergencies
  • Experience with maintenance on pipeline equipment: valves, pipe coating, heaters, separators and cathodic protection
  • Valid LA Class D Chauffeurs or CDL driver’s license
  • Project planning experience
  • Technical School or College

Responsibilities

  • Operation and maintenance of all pipeline facilities in and around the Sterlington area.
  • Comply with all Company, DOT, OSHA, and Environmental rules and regulations.
  • Learn and function within the Company OMS process for documenting job functions.
  • Perform unscheduled or emergency work as required.
  • Learn all Pipeline ROW Routes and handle all encroachment activities.

  • Participate in On-Call duties for Pipeline emergencies and call outs to Sterlington Compressor station.
  • Handling natural gas related to reciprocating / turbine compression equipment, pipeline network in assigned area.
  • Performing assigned tasks, supporting construction activities.
  • Conducting preventative maintenance and regulated compliance inspections along pipelines such as meter stations, on corrosion control systems, valves, leak surveys and right-of-way areas.
  • Managing facility encroachment activities such as pipe locates, excavations, and inspections.
  • Acquiring Operator Qualification (OQ) tasks.
  • Assisting at other work locations occasionally.
