About The Position

At Automated Logic, a Carrier Company, the Associate Field Engineer enters the building controls industry in an entry-level role with opportunities to develop expertise. The position involves hands-on troubleshooting of direct digital control (DDC) systems, travel as needed, and learning progressively more complex systems and responsibilities. The role supports installation, troubleshooting, and optimization of building control systems, as well as project documentation and communication with teams and customers.

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED.
• Valid, current driver’s license and ability to be insured by the company’s insurance carrier.
• Ability to lift items up to 50 lbs and perform physical tasks such as squatting and climbing for extended periods.
• Ability to work more than 8 feet above grade and proficiency using ladders and motorized lift equipment.

Nice To Haves

• Degree or technical certificate in HVAC, Controls, or a related field.
• Basic understanding of BAS integration and TCP/IP networking, including wireless networking.
• Ability to explain technical information to non-technical people and work well within a team.
• Proficiency with Microsoft 365 applications.

Responsibilities

• Install, troubleshoot, and optimize DDC systems.
• Work with the team to ensure controls, sensors, and software operate correctly, including configuring trends and alarms.
• Maintain accurate construction records and communicate project status clearly to the team and customers.
• Travel as needed and adapt to changing schedules and project locations to support field operations.
• Pursue self-directed learning, seek out system complexity, and take on more responsibility as skills advance.
