About The Position

Post University is seeking highly qualified educators, researchers, and industry professionals with terminal degrees to teach graduate students in its Master of Science in Computer Science program. This on-campus position at the Waterbury, Connecticut campus involves teaching graduate-level courses, mentoring students, contributing to academic excellence, and bringing current industry and research expertise into the classroom. The program focuses on advanced topics such as artificial intelligence, machine learning, software engineering, cybersecurity, cloud computing, data science, computer systems, and emerging technologies.

Requirements

  • Earned doctoral degree required in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Artificial Intelligence, Data Science, Cybersecurity, Information Systems, Computer Engineering, or a closely related discipline.
  • Demonstrated academic and/or professional expertise in the discipline being taught.
  • Minimum of three years of relevant industry experience in computing, software development, cybersecurity, artificial intelligence, cloud computing, data science, systems engineering, or related technical fields.
  • Strong communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills.
  • Commitment to student success and academic excellence.

Nice To Haves

  • Previous graduate level teaching experience.
  • Experience teaching in higher education.
  • Record of scholarly activity, research, publications, presentations, or industry leadership.
  • Experience developing graduate curriculum and course materials.
  • Experience supervising student research, capstone projects, or thesis work.
  • Professional certifications are strongly preferred and should align with the candidate's area of expertise.

Responsibilities

  • Teach graduate level Computer Science courses in a face to face classroom environment.
  • Deliver engaging, rigorous, and student centered instruction.
  • Provide timely feedback and assessment of student learning.
  • Mentor and advise graduate students.
  • Integrate current industry practices, research, and emerging technologies into coursework.
  • Participate in curriculum development, program assessment, and continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Collaborate with faculty, program leadership, and university administration.
  • Maintain academic records and adhere to university policies and accreditation standards.
