About The Position

The Associate, Facilities Maintenance supports the station’s physical plant, studio environments, and vehicle fleets. The role helps maintain clean, safe, and professional shared office and broadcast studio spaces; assists the local engineering team with specialized facility maintenance and repair projects; coordinates outside contractors and obtains expense approval from the Columbus Chief Engineer before costs are incurred; completes scheduled safety inspections of building equipment; and supports light maintenance and logistics for station news vehicles.

Requirements

General understanding of commercial building technologies and basic repair practices, including electrical, plumbing, and carpentry.
Ability to lift and move equipment or packages weighing over 50 pounds.
Valid driver's license and clean driving record.

Prior background in building operations, facilities maintenance, engineering support, or a related trade.

Responsibilities

Maintain clean, safe, and professional conditions across shared office spaces and broadcast studios.
Assist local engineering team members with specialized facility maintenance and repair projects.
Schedule, coordinate, and monitor work performed by outside contractors.
Obtain direct expense approval from the Columbus Chief Engineer before incurring contractor costs.
Perform required monthly, semiannual, and annual safety inspections of building equipment, including AED devices, fire extinguishers, emergency lighting, and exit signs.
Assist with light maintenance of station news vehicles, including coordinating inspections, checking fluid levels, and routinely driving vehicles to ensure functionality.
Handle registration renewals for station news vehicles.
