About The Position

The Engineering Technician supports engineering teams through hands‑on technical execution across laboratory, fabrication, test, and prototyping environments. This role contributes directly to the development, testing, modification, and sustainment of engineering products, systems, and processes by performing standardized technical assignments under established procedures. The position offers exposure to modern manufacturing, test, and engineering support tools while working closely with engineers on active programs. This is an entry‑level opportunity designed for early‑career technicians seeking practical experience in an engineering environment.

Requirements

  • BS degree in Engineering, Engineering Technology, or a related technical discipline
  • Secret Clearance or ability to obtain and maintain
  • Must be a US Citizen
  • Must resides in/around Lexington Park, MD.

Nice To Haves

  • Hands‑on experience supporting laboratory operations, including the use of digital oscilloscopes, spectrum analyzers, and signal generators to validate hardware.
  • Coursework or practical experience with ECAD tools for schematic capture and PCB layout, 3D modeling, or technical drawing support.
  • Exposure to additive manufacturing, prototyping, or basic manufacturing processes through coursework, labs, or internships.

Responsibilities

  • Support engineers in the design, development, modification, and improvement of products, systems, and processes by executing assigned technical tasks in laboratory, shop, or test environments.
  • Perform standardized inspection, testing, maintenance, and setup activities for engineering, fabrication, and test equipment in accordance with approved procedures and safety requirements.
  • Assist with fabrication and prototyping activities, including additive and subtractive manufacturing operations, to support engineering development and evaluation efforts.
  • Collect, document, and report technical data, test results, and observations to support engineering analysis, troubleshooting, and configuration control.
  • Support receiving inspections, material handling, inventory tracking, and tool control activities to ensure equipment and materials are available and compliant.
  • Assist with equipment installation, configuration, calibration, and basic repair under engineering direction.
  • Follow defined work instructions and quality standards for recurring assignments while receiving explicit guidance on non‑routine or unfamiliar tasks.
  • Contribute to continuous improvement by identifying issues, documenting findings, and recommending corrective or preventive actions within established processes.
