About The Position
Skoda Contracting is seeking an Associate Engineer to join our construction engineering department. This role involves supporting construction projects by conducting site visits, preparing drawings, managing documentation, and assisting with scheduling and cost estimation. The position is based in Fords, NJ, and operates Monday to Friday from 7:00 AM to 3:30 PM.
Requirements
- Strong math skills and attention for detail.
- Proficient in Microsoft Excel.
- Valid driver’s license.
Nice To Haves
- Proficiency in AutoCAD (Civil 3D experience a plus, but not required).
- Degree in Civil engineering or Construction Management preferred.
Responsibilities
- Conduct site visits during construction, keeping accurate measurements, field notes, and sketches.
- Prepare main as-built drawings in AutoCAD, along with service records.
- Complete internal Skoda documentation for recordkeeping, billing, and cost tracking.
- Perform data entry in client databases (e.g., Maximo).
- Review ETG construction documents for cost estimating and participate in takeoff meetings prior to project start.
- Assist with maintaining crew schedules.
- Operate GPS devices to support pipeline installation tracking.
- Verify on-site records to prevent damage to existing utilities prior to construction.
- Conduct pre-construction site visits and prepare looker reports outlining personnel and equipment needs.
- Perform other duties as required to support project completion.
