About The Position

If you’re early in your engineering career and want more than just one narrow role, this is your opportunity. At Prototek, our Associate Engineers rotate through Operations, Quality, and Commercial teams, gaining real-world experience across the full manufacturing lifecycle. You won’t just observe—you’ll contribute. From improving processes on the shop floor to helping develop winning customer proposals, you’ll see how engineering decisions impact the business every day. This is not a design-focused role—customers provide the part designs. Your work will focus on how these designs are manufactured, including process optimization, quality and production support. It's a strong fit if you're interested in hands-on manufacturing and problem solving across the production lifecycle.

Requirements

  • BS in Engineering (Mechanical, Industrial, Material Science or related)
  • Understanding of manufacturing processes and materials (Additive experience preferred)
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Must meet ITAR U.S. Person requirements – Prototek maintains International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR) compliant operations in United States based facilities. This position is subject to ITAR which requires U.S. Person status. ITAR defines U.S. Person as U.S. Citizens, lawful permanent residents, or foreign nationals granted refugee or asylee status.

Responsibilities

  • Analyze and improve manufacturing processes to increase capacity and efficiency
  • Utilize CAD (SolidWorks) and GD&T to support production and quoting
  • Assist with cost analysis and estimating improvements
  • Support Quality initiatives to ensure compliance with customer requirements
  • Collaborate cross-functionally to resolve technical challenges
