About The Position

Element has an opportunity for an Associate Engineer to join their rapidly expanding team. As a member of the operations team, the Engineer position performs a variety of routine and non-routine testing assignments within the department assigned and insures timely and accurate test results under minimal direct supervision. The engineer position must be proficient in a number of core business and technical skills including but not limited to compliance to established safety rules, code of conduct, and company policies and procedures. Requirements

  • Working knowledge of laboratory safety
  • Possess a recognized scientific, technical or engineering qualification to a degree level
  • A Bachelors of Science degree in a science or testing related field
  • In-depth understanding of testing concepts
  • Ability to analyze and compile testing data from the tests performed
  • Possess strong computer skills
  • Intermediate to advanced mathematical skills.
  • Ability to apply concepts of algebra, geometry, and statistics required
  • Ability to work on well-defined issues, standard and/or routine tests, with limited supervision in accordance with approved procedures, methods, customer specifications and standards
  • Adapt at managing job priority and work time in accordance with targets/goals set by supervisor
  • Under the close guidance of advanced Engineers in the laboratory, work on well delineated technical issues including standard and routine analysis
  • Define work experience that has impact on the day to day technical decisions made on timely delivery of laboratory testing services and customer support
  • Strong technical knowledge
  • Able to demonstrate the ability to apply an array of testing techniques in a rational and practical style to help examine issues and build solutions

Nice To Haves

  • Preferred significant field experience leading to comparable engineering knowledge, competencies and skill
  • Experience with Fusion 360 is a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Closely involved – as a contributing team member – with a variety of assignments with the laboratory
  • Accountable for technical activities of a limited scope and may attain additional responsibilities for release of standard and/or routine data to clients
  • Possess the ability to effectively contribute to technical presentations and communications within the engineering discipline
  • Project management of customer projects, including both standardized and custom tests.
  • Support process improvement initiatives across multiple testing departments, included but not limited to: Fixture design, specimen design, SOP development, and material selection.
