About The Position

L3Harris is seeking an Associate Engineer to join the Materials and Process Engineering team within the Missile Solutions segment. This position supports the Materials Laboratory, with a primary focus on wet chemistry testing and chemical analysis for Space and Defense programs. The role performs hands-on chemical testing, solution preparation, titrations, contamination analysis, and analytical testing, while supporting engineering teams on development efforts and failure investigations. Work is performed under direct supervision following detailed instructions and established laboratory procedures. The schedule is 9/80: employees work 9 out of every 14 days, totaling 80 hours, and have every other Friday off.

Requirements

Must be pursuing a bachelor's degree in Materials Engineering, Chemistry, or a related field, or have completed a bachelor's degree within the last 12 months, regardless of age.

Responsibilities

Perform wet chemistry analyses, including solution preparation, titrations, gravimetric analysis, pH and conductivity measurements, and automated titration methods.
Conduct contamination analysis to support process control, cleanliness verification, and product investigations.
Operate analytical and wet-chemistry instrumentation, including FTIR, LECO carbon/sulfur analysis, pH meters, titrators, GCs, analytical balances, and AA.
Support engineering projects by developing test protocols, performing chemical analyses, and documenting data for research, development, and failure analysis.
Follow required safety practices and use supplied personal protective equipment (PPE).
Work safely with acids, bases, oxidizers, and other hazardous laboratory chemicals.
