Requirements

  • Ability to work Full Time, 2nd Shift, Monday-Friday 4:00pm until 1:00am
  • Associate’s degree in engineering or the equivalent in terms of experience and training
  • 2+ years of directly related experience

  • Ability to work in fast-paced, multi-tasking environment with shifting priorities and demanding deadlines

  • Ability to review, understand, and convey technical information in an effective manner
  • Ability to apply common-sense understanding to carry out simple one or two step instructions
  • Must be detailed-oriented and able to effectively prioritize and organize workload, with efficient time management
  • Ability to communicate and interact effectively in verbal written and presentation formats
  • Must be customer focused and quality driven
  • Valid driver’s license and reliable driving record
  • Ability to lift up to 35lbs.
  • Ability to sit and stand prolonged periods of time
  • Ability to travel, up to 5%

Nice To Haves

  • Electrical engineering/testing background
  • 6+ years of direct experience
  • Familiar with standards and codes relating to product safety

Responsibilities

  • Conduct on and off-site evaluation of products to determine compliance with applicable standard(s).
  • Read and determine applicability of national codes and standards clauses for the EUT (equipment under test).
  • Read and understand schematics and manufacturing instructions.
  • Validate the project scope and sample applicability.
  • Identify and locate test instruments and equipment required for testing under the scope of the project.
  • Follow established test plan.
  • Set up and operate EUT; perform and document simple repairs on EUT as needed.
  • Conduct thorough construction review; document results.
  • Perform testing of products in accordance with standards.
  • Identify, set up, and operate standard test equipment.
  • Work under the direction of senior engineering staff to diagnose failures during tests and explore other options for testing.
  • Ensure that sample is logged into and out of the system, following sample handling procedures.
  • Move equipment as needed through the facility and properly package sample for shipment.
  • Manage less complex projects utilizing the resources available, under the direction of a more senior engineer.
  • Compile test results during construction review and testing.
  • Compile data and product description and type final report using established report shell, then submit report to reviewer for final approval.
  • Communicate project status and test results to client, sales personnel, and management throughout testing.
  • Provide on-going support to clients as needed.
