Associate Employee Relations

Unified Women's Healthcare•UNAVAILABLE, Florida

About The Position

The Associate Employee Relations provides specialized human resources support for moderately complex employee relations matters. The role evaluates escalated concerns, interprets HR policies and employment practices, assesses risk, and recommends appropriate next steps to support consistent, compliant, and well-documented outcomes. This position serves as an escalation point between HR Shared Services and the Employee Relations Partner, using discretion and independent judgment to determine when matters can be resolved directly and when they require further escalation to Employee Relations leadership, Legal, Compliance, or other stakeholders. The role supports early intervention on employee concerns, manager guidance, case documentation, and coordinated resolution of issues involving performance, conduct, attendance, policy interpretation, workplace concerns, and related employee relations risks.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, Organizational Development, or a related field preferred; equivalent combination of education and directly related experience may be considered.
  • 2+ years of progressive Human Resources experience, including employee relations, HR operations, HR service delivery, HR generalist support, or a closely related HR function.
  • Experience supporting employee relations matters such as performance management, corrective action, policy interpretation, employee complaints, workplace conduct concerns, leave or accommodation escalations, or case triage.
  • Demonstrated ability to analyze employee situations, gather and organize facts, identify risk, apply policy, and recommend appropriate next steps.
  • Strong written documentation skills, including the ability to prepare clear, accurate, objective, and defensible case notes, summaries, and recommendations.
  • Ability to exercise discretion and sound judgment when handling sensitive, confidential, or potentially high-risk employee matters.
  • Strong consultation, communication, and relationship-building skills with the ability to guide managers, employees, HR partners, and Shared Services team members professionally and objectively.
  • Working knowledge of HR policies, employment practices, and basic federal, state, and local employment law concepts.
  • Ability to maintain neutrality, manage competing perspectives, and escalate complex or sensitive issues appropriately.
  • Proficiency with HRIS, case management, ticketing systems, Microsoft Office, and related HR technology platforms.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience in healthcare, multi-practice, multi-state, MSO, or complex employment environments preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Gather, review, and organize relevant case information, including employee concerns, manager documentation, prior history, policy references, and supporting records needed to evaluate facts and support defensible decisions.
  • Support resolution of assigned employee relations cases by analyzing facts, weighing compliance and consistency risks, documenting recommendations, and coordinating timely follow-through with leaders, HR partners, and other stakeholders.
  • Assist with workplace investigations by supporting intake, preparing case summaries, gathering documentation, participating in interviews as appropriate, and escalating complex allegations or high-risk matters to the Employee Relations Partner or leadership.
  • Maintain accurate, confidential, and objective case documentation in HR case management systems, ensuring notes, supporting materials, recommendations, decisions, and follow-up actions are complete and timely.
  • Identify recurring case themes, policy interpretation gaps, documentation issues, escalation trends, or manager capability needs and recommend updates to tools, knowledge resources, processes, or training materials.
