About The Position

IB Abel is seeking an Associate Electrical Engineer responsible for performing general electrical engineering tasks including the design, coordination, and technical support of electrical power distribution, construction, and related systems for commercial, industrial, and government projects. Requirements

Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering or Electrical Engineering Technology.
0-2 years in the practice of Electrical Engineering, focusing on power systems.
EIT preferred or ability to obtain EIT.
Proficient in the use of Revit, AutoCAD, AGi32, ETAP, and Bluebeam Revu as well as MS Office applications with strong skills in Excel, Word, and MS Project.
Local to Pennsylvania (preferable) but with regular travel to other offices, customer facilities, jobsites and yard locations for offsite meetings (flexibility to work from home when appropriate).
A “can-do” attitude, strong work ethic, and ability to collaborate effectively with various teams.

Responsibilities

Perform design of electrical power distribution, lighting, and related systems for commercial, industrial, and government projects.
Develop electrical engineering and design scopes of work.
Perform electrical engineering calculations and studies.
Prepare drawings suitable for permit, construction, and competitive bidding.
Perform CAD work.
Prepare technical specifications.
Specify equipment and materials and assist in obtaining pricing from suppliers.
Support preparation and review of submittents, product data, and shop drawings.
Perform specification reviews.
Support document control activities.
Coordinate with other engineering and construction disciplines.
Coordinate with electric utility companies.
Assist estimators and project managers with electrical designs, value engineering, and code interpretation.
Support RFI generation and review.
Assist with ACC Build project setup.
Provide guidance to field personnel during construction.
Assist with equipment startup, troubleshooting, and code interpretation.
Conduct field surveys to observe existing conditions and gather project information.
Meet with customers to clarify scope of work and consult on technical or constructability issues.
Professionally represent IB Abel with clients, utilities, and project partners.
Support Electrical Services Operations as needed to ensure successful project execution.
Assist with ongoing project documentation, coordination, and compliance requirements.
