About The Position

We are seeking a motivated Associate Electrical Engineer to join our team. This role involves assisting senior engineers in the design, development, and testing of electrical systems for robotics. You will gain hands-on experience with PCB design, component management, hardware bring-up, and troubleshooting. This is an on-site position where you will collaborate closely with cross-functional teams and vendors.

Requirements

  • Recent Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Robotics, or a related field.
  • Demonstrated experience designing, building, and testing electronics through university capstone projects, research labs, or internships.
  • Strong academic foundation in Power Electronics (buck/boost converters, LDOs, motor drivers).
  • Strong academic foundation in Digital Electronics (Microcontrollers (MCU), common interfaces (SPI, I2C, UART), and basic high-speed concepts).
  • Strong academic foundation in Analog Electronics (Op-amps, filters, and sensing circuits).
  • Basic proficiency with Altium Designer (or similar tools like KiCad/Eagle) for schematic capture and PCB layout.
  • Comfortable using oscilloscopes, logic analyzers, multimeters, and soldering irons to debug hardware.
  • A logical approach to troubleshooting bugs and a willingness to document findings clearly.
  • Ability to articulate technical concepts and ask questions when stuck.

Nice To Haves

  • Participation in student competitions like Formula SAE, Solar Car, or Robotics Club is a huge plus.
  • Experience with Python or MATLAB for data analysis or test automation.
  • Exposure to Embedded C/C++ programming for MCUs or DSPs.
  • Familiarity with simulation tools like LTspice.
  • Coursework or project exposure to high-speed interfaces (USB, Ethernet) or camera systems (MIPI, GMSL).
  • Understanding of basic rigid-flex or HDI PCB concepts.
  • Interest in motor control theory or robotic locomotion.

Responsibilities

  • Assist senior engineers in the design of PCBAs for robotics systems (including motor controllers, power distribution, and sensor interface boards).
  • Create schematics for sub-circuits and perform PCB layout for simpler designs or breakout boards under the guidance of a mentor.
  • Help maintain the component library by creating and verifying symbols and footprints.
  • Support board bring-up activities, execute test plans, measure signal quality, and troubleshoot hardware issues in the lab.
  • Assist in preparing fabrication and assembly files (Gerbers, BOMs) and release them to manufacturing.
  • Work closely with Mechanical and Software engineering teams to ensure hardware integrates physically and functionally.
  • Communicate with PCB fabrication and assembly vendors to resolve simple engineering questions (EQs).
