Leidos is seeking an Associate Distribution Engineer to work in either their Framingham, MA office or the New Hampshire area. This role offers the opportunity to gain experience in NESC expertise, Structural Pole Modeling, Electrical Power Calculations, GIS Design, and interactions with other disciplines such as Substation, Protection & Controls, and Civil Structural. The position involves developing construction work packages for electric distribution systems (OH, UG, or URD environments) for new business and reliability designs. This includes using various software systems like Bentley Open utilities Design, CAD, GIS, and WMS. The role requires performing engineering calculations for pole analysis, guying, cable pulling, electric demand, transformer sizing, voltage drop, flicker, and protective device coordination. Additional tasks may include preparing forestry trimming requests, facilitating permit and Right-of-Way acquisition, developing Bills of Materials (BOM), estimating costs, and customer advocacy like acquiring easements. Field investigations via motor vehicle are also a part of the work assignments.
