We’re looking for someone who is dedicated to ensuring that every project, no matter how simple or complex, is of exceptional quality. You'll be working directly with clients to make sure that Leidos' reputation for high-quality work is always maintained. If you join us in this role, you'll gain expertise in a variety of areas, including NESC, Structural Pole Modeling, Electrical Power Calculations, GIS design training, Field Data Collection, and Client Design Standards. As an Associate Distribution Engineer supporting our Electric Grid Modernization and Power Delivery programs, you can expect to: Support design engineering efforts for electric utility projects, assisting with individual design tasks and quality control activities under the guidance of senior engineers. Assist in developing work packages for overhead (OH), and underground (UG) distribution design. Support electric utility grid infrastructure projects focused on system expansion, reliability improvements, and grid modernization initiatives. Collaborate with engineers and design leads to address client needs while supporting scope, schedule, and quality objectives. Participate in reviewing engineering design packages and contribute to planning, documentation, and customer follow-up activities. Assist with scope analysis of assigned work and help maintain schedule adherence to support client priorities. Continuously build technical knowledge of utility standards, distribution design practices, and grid engineering processes. Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives that enhance workflow efficiency and support high-quality design deliverables. Assist in coordinating with utilities and field engineering teams to support design requirements, helping develop design packages for cable/conduit projects in urban environments. Support activities related to work permits, easements, and right-of-way (ROW) applications under the guidance of senior team members. Gain experience using industry-standard utility design tools, including PoleForeman, AutoCAD, GIS platforms, and other engineering software, to support distribution design and engineering deliverables. Be comfortable in both field and office settings; the role may require customer site visits to collect field data that will assist in developing work packages. Participate in customer-facing activities and meetings as needed. (Job-related travel will be reimbursed at IRS-approved rates.)
