About The Position

Protiviti is looking for an Associate Director to join our growing Technology Audit & Advisory team. As an Associate Director, you will take a lead role in strengthening client relationships and providing strategic guidance across complex capital programs and construction projects. You will partner with clients to identify construction and capital project delivery risks, technical challenges, and opportunities to enhance the efficiency, governance, and performance of capital investments. You will develop innovative strategies to solve complex business problems and devise solutions that address client needs using leading practices, data-driven insights, and emerging tools and methodologies. You will also help develop new business opportunities, expand existing client relationships, and contribute to the growth of our Technology Audit practice. You will build lasting relationships with clients and within the business community while serving as an ambassador of Protiviti in the market. You will also mentor and develop high-performing teams, provide leadership across engagements, and oversee the successful delivery of project work plans while driving quality, innovation, and exceptional client service. We focus on innovation by identifying solutions to client problems related to technology, helping them to rethink how technology processes are managed by incorporating AI and automation. We also focus on technology enablement by incorporating analytics, AI, automation and other new tools and methods in the execution of audit work for our clients, enabling a deeper, broader, more efficient, and more insightful analysis of our clients’ technology risks. We support a broad set of potential certifications and related trainings for our team, equipping our technology audit organization to stay at the forefront of emerging risks and trends. Consultants in Technology Audit & Advisory work with clients to assess, identify risk, advise, and consult on different technology-related topics, including: Cybersecurity, Cloud Assurance, Project Risk Advisory, Technology Risk Management and Assessment, IT General Controls (ITGC), AI and Data Governance, Data Privacy, Technology Regulations, Enterprise Applications, Technology Resilience, IT Sarbanes-Oxley Compliance, Emerging Technologies, 2nd Line Controls, Governance, and Technology Enablement.

Requirements

• Demonstrated experience with leading teams in implementing IT audit methodologies and developing necessary audit deliverables, including process flows, work programs, audit reports, and control summaries.
• Demonstrated experience with commonly used internal control frameworks, including COBIT, ISO 27001, NIST CSF, CIS, ITIL, etc.
• Demonstrated experience with Sarbanes-Oxley Act provisions and methodologies for achieving compliance, in particular the technology implications and requirements.
• A passion for the latest trends and developments in data and technology, including high-growth topics of cybersecurity, cloud, data governance, privacy, analytics, enterprise applications (e.g., SAP, Oracle, Workday, Salesforce, Microsoft Dynamics etc.), disaster recovery, systems development methodologies etc.
• A passion for analytics and technology enablement (automation, AI/ ML etc.).
• Experience serving clients in the energy and utilities industry.
• Experience establishing and cultivating business relationships and a professional network, including with senior executives.
• Experience successfully pursuing business development opportunities and identifying and implementing strategies to obtain new work or clientele.
• Ability to translate and communicate technology topics and audit issues to client personnel, including executives.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite applications.
• Bachelor’s degree in relevant discipline (e.g., Accounting, Finance, Information Technology, Cybersecurity, or business-related field).
• 9 + years working in technology audit, consulting, assurance services, risk and control programs, or related field, either in professional services or industry.

Nice To Haves

• Secondary emphasis on Gen AI tools (e.g., Copilot, Claude , etc.).
• Proficiency in PowerBI , Tableau, Alteryx, Python, RPA Solutions , or other Analytics tools strongly preferred.
• Professional Certification such as CIA, CRMA, CISA, CISM, CISSP, or similar strongly preferred.
• Experience working across different teaming models, including offshore resources, is a plus.

• Leading teams in implementing IT audit methodologies and developing necessary audit deliverables, including process flows, work programs, audit reports, and control summaries.
• Handling project management and administrative responsibilities, such as budgeting, invoicing, and project resourcing.
• Leadership and direct supervisory experience of teams including conducting performance appraisals, mentoring and coaching, oversight and review of work, coordination across teams, and understanding how to motivate.
• Discovering prospective project work with current and potential clients through networking, knowledge-building, and client interactions.
• Identifying opportunities to integrate product solutions and resources to improve client service capabilities.
• Translating and communicating technology topics and audit issues to client personnel, including executives.
• Managing a diverse portfolio of clients across multiple industries.
• Leveraging AI to enhance personal productivity as well as internal audit and SOX activities, including planning, fieldwork and reporting.
• Collaborating across time zones, working effectively with diverse, geographically distributed teams to deliver seamless client service.
