About The Position

The Associate Director will be responsible for IT Strategic Sourcing and Category Management within a global organization, with a preference for experience in financial services. This role requires a strong understanding of developing RFxs and negotiating contracts for various IT categories including hardware, software, telecom/networking, private cloud, public cloud, and IT professional services. The ideal candidate will possess knowledge of enterprise IT vendors and emerging technology providers, coupled with outstanding communication skills to articulate complex sourcing and contractual concepts to diverse stakeholders. Strong organizational skills, the ability to manage competing priorities independently, sound judgment, attention to detail, and analytical, reporting, and presentation skills are essential. The role also requires comfort with organizational change and transformation, an understanding of financial, legal, and operational controls in regulated environments, a client service focus, and experience developing SLAs with technology suppliers.

Requirements

  • Minimum of 7 years of IT Strategic Sourcing and Category Mgmt. at a global organization, preferably in financial services.
  • Experience and proven success developing RFxs and negotiating HW, software, telecom/networking, private cloud, public cloud, and IT professional services contracts.
  • Knowledge of enterprise IT vendors as well as emerging technology providers.
  • Outstanding communication skills, including the ability to simplify complex sourcing and contractual concepts into terms that can be understood by business, legal, finance, and risk stakeholders.
  • Strong organizational competency with the ability to independently manage competing priorities.
  • Ability to work independently and exercise sound judgement.
  • Attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Strong analytical, reporting, and presentation skills.
  • Comfortable with organizational change and transformation.
  • Understanding of key financial, legal, and operational controls required in a heavily regulated organization.
  • Client service focused.
  • Experience partnering with stakeholders to develop SLAs with technology suppliers.
