About The Position

This position supports the Executive Director of the Materials Lab and serves as the primary point of contact for all university engagements across existing Centers of Excellence (COEs), as well as the development of new strategic academic partnerships. The role is responsible for coordinating activities within current COEs, strengthening relationships with non‑COE university programs, and collaborating with internal stakeholders to align research priorities, define project scopes, and promote sustained and incremental funding. The position oversees and coordinates materials‑related initiatives across global engineering sites, including the identification of new collaboration opportunities, evaluation of potential partnership prospects, and monitoring of ongoing work at both IISC and PW Puerto Rico. The individual will ensure consistent alignment of technical objectives, program requirements, and investment strategies across all locations. Additionally, the role manages collaboration efforts with key external partners such as MTU, IHI, MHI, PWC, and others. Responsibilities include interfacing with partner technical directors, identifying areas of mutual interest, coordinating joint research opportunities, preparing materials and alignment briefs for SEEM meetings, and supporting long‑term strategic planning discussions. The successful candidate will serve as a central coordinator and integrator across internal teams, academic institutions, and global partners to ensure that materials research initiatives are cohesive, impactful, and strategically positioned to advance enterprise‑level technology goals.
