About The Position

The Associate Director Technology II will supervise a team of IT employees responsible for the development and delivery of IT system solutions. This role involves managing the development and integrity of new applications and systems, as well as the support and maintenance of existing ones. The position requires leading teams within various technical sub-families, including Agile, Application Design and Programming, Business Support, Database, Systems Architecture and Engineering, Systems Technical Support, and Software Delivery Project/Program Management and Technology Security. The role also involves coordinating the software development lifecycle, partnering with technology vendors and consultants, and collaborating with business areas and other IT organizations to define strategic technical direction and develop business cases. Key responsibilities include defining requirements, preparing plans and schedules, managing resources and funding, and conducting performance reviews. The role also focuses on developing highly scalable architecture for the Order Domain and Enterprise order lifecycle, utilizing cloud technologies (AWS/Azure), NoSQL databases (Elasticsearch/SOLR, Redis), relational databases (Postgres, Oracle), and event-based architecture with Kafka. Subject matter expertise in building high-volume, high-transaction applications using Java, Spring Boot, and Maven is essential. The role involves performing requirements gathering, analyzing requirements, decomposing them into feature delivery items, and delivering software using SDLC on Azure and On-Premise. Leading engineering teams and overseeing Digital Transformations, including legacy platform migrations, are also key aspects of this position. The role directly oversees two Lead Software Engineers, one Principal Quality Assurance, one Lead Quality Assurance, and one Senior Tech Product Manager.

Requirements

Master degree, or foreign equivalent degree, in Computer Engineering, Computer Science, Applied Science, Electrical Engineering, or Computer Information Systems
5 years of experience in developing highly scalable architecture
5 years of experience applying Cloud technologies including AWS/Azure
5 years of experience in NoSQL databases including Elasticsearch/SOLR and Redis and Relational databases including Postgres and Oracle
5 years of experience utilizing Event-Based architecture for asynchronous processing with Kafka
5 years of experience applying subject matter knowledge in building high-volume and high-transaction applications utilizing Java, Spring Boot, and Maven
5 years of experience performing requirements gathering, analyzing requirements, and decomposing into feature delivery items
5 years of experience leading engineering teams
5 years of experience applying experience with Digital Transformations that includes migration of legacy platforms

Responsibilities

Supervise a team of IT employees responsible for the development and delivery of IT system solutions.
Manage the development and integrity of new applications and systems, and the support and maintenance of existing applications or systems.
Manage teams working in technical sub-families including Agile, Application Design and Programming, Business Support, Database, Systems Architecture and Engineering, Systems Technical Support, and Technical Disciplines of Software Delivery Project/Program Management, and Technology Security.
Coordinate software development lifecycle process.
Assist in the coordination, evaluation, and partnership with technology vendors, outside consultants, and internal dotted line resources.
Work with other business areas and IT organizations to identify and quantify business issues, develop and implement business strategy, and assist in setting strategic technical direction.
Assist in providing leadership for projects, including collaborating with the client to develop business cases, defining business and technical requirements, preparing detailed plans and schedules, calculating resource allocation and assignment, providing ongoing coordination, tracking of capital and expense funding, and preparing actual vs. budget analysis.
Conduct joint goal setting and performance reviews.
Assist in the allocation of resources, financial responsibilities, and some long-range planning.
Develop highly scalable architecture for Order Domain and Enterprise order lifecycle.
Apply experience with Cloud technologies including AWS/Azure.
Apply experience in NoSQL databases including Elasticsearch/SOLR and Redis and Relational databases including Postgres and Oracle.
Utilize Event-Based architecture for asynchronous processing with Kafka.
Apply subject matter knowledge in building high-volume and high-transaction applications utilizing Java, Spring Boot, and Maven.
Perform requirements gathering, analyze requirements, and decompose into feature delivery items.
