About The Position

As the Associate Director Technical Program Manager for Digital Health and Emerging Technology, you will play a pivotal role in the seamless integration of cutting-edge digital health and emerging technology assets into clinical trials. Working within the dynamic team of Data Science and Applied Machine Learning (DSAML), your responsibilities will encompass leading the end-to-end execution of these integrations, ensuring timely and successful program delivery while mitigating program risks. You will be the primary liaison for program execution initiatives, coordinating efforts between DSAML stakeholders and external partners. Moreover, your expertise will support clinical trial operational staff in navigating technical aspects such as software and hardware engineering, biomedical engineering, and complex project requirements management. As Biogen continues to integrate these technologies across its processes, you'll tackle diverse tasks to align program/project management with therapeutic area needs, ensuring cross-functional teams operate efficiently and transparently in compliance with quality and regulatory standards.

Requirements

  • 5-10 years of experience in Program Management with escalating responsibilities through program/project/product lifecycle.
  • Expertise in coordinating activities using systems engineering frameworks (e.g., waterfall, Agile scrum).
  • Familiarity with devices and diagnostics used in clinical trials and routine clinical care.
  • Expertise in Software as a Medical Device (SaMD), including smartphone applications.
  • Significant experience incorporating medical devices and instrumentation into observational and interventional trials.
  • Ability to prioritize tasks in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong written and oral communication skills in English required.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience in biomedical engineering and requirements management for complex projects.
  • Knowledge of quality and regulatory principles related to digital health technologies.

Responsibilities

  • Establish, manage, and maintain integration of assets across clinical trials.
  • Serve as the day-to-day coordinator of activities with external vendors for DSAML initiatives, ensuring timely deliverables and effective communication.
  • Coordinate technical deliverables for studies, programs, and capabilities leveraging digital health and technology to enhance clinical research and participant engagement.
  • Support the maintenance of holistic task prioritization assets across the DSAML portfolio, especially where responsibilities overlap.
  • Generate and maintain roadmaps, milestone assessment plans, and prepare materials for briefings on program accomplishments, risks, and resource needs.
  • Monitor industry and regulatory trends to develop strategies for emerging technology and provide guidance on these trends.
