About The Position

Physician Affiliate Group of New York (PAGNY) is seeking an Associate Director, Psychiatry - CPEP for NYC Health + Hospitals/North Central Bronx. This is a 213-bed community hospital known for its quality care and strong academic affiliation with Albert Einstein College of Medicine. The hospital's mission is to provide comprehensive health services to all New Yorkers with compassion, dignity, and respect, regardless of their ability to pay. The Comprehensive Psychiatric Emergency Program (CPEP) is a state-of-the-art acute service offering evaluation, stabilization, and consultation services. The role requires a psychiatrist with clinical leadership and teaching experience, offering opportunities for leadership, teaching, and learning within an academic and clinical setting. Additional paid sessional work is available, with no mandatory on-call requirement.

Requirements

  • Board Certified or Board Eligible in Psychiatry.
  • Active New York State Medical License.
  • 2-3 years of experience preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Direct supervision of attending psychiatrists, psychologists, psychiatric PA staff, residents, medical students, and psychology interns.
  • Oversee the delivery of high quality, evidence-based care.
  • Work directly with leaders in other areas of the Department, including inpatient and ambulatory programs, as well as the Emergency Medicine Department.
  • Assume an important role in Patient Safety and Clinical Effectiveness.
  • Provide leadership in undergraduate medical education, including active participation in the clinical and didactic teaching of medical students and graduate medical education of residents.
  • Incident review management and participation in departmental IRC meetings.
  • Review/revise guidelines for standards of care ensuring that CPEP meets the OMH regulations.
  • Provide leadership for all tours.

  • Annual Base Salary: $296,000.00 based on 40-hour work week.
  • Additional compensation available for extra call or sessional/per diem hours.
  • Projected bonus of up to $40,000 (based on previous year’s average), contingent upon meeting quality and productivity targets.
