Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree and three years of related experience, or a combination of education and related experience.

  • A strong professional network among the professional accounting community in metro Atlanta, and extensive knowledge of the regional accounting and business market.
  • Familiarity with the CPA exam, including exam requirements, testing, and student resources.
  • Strong project management skills.
  • Excellent communication skills, including presentation skills and experience leading workshops.

Responsibilities

  • Implement and assess to refine our best-practice designed cohesive professional development strategy for SOA students.
  • Coordinate and deliver our professional development course, which prepares undergraduate students to navigate the accounting profession, develop their professional identity, and make informed career pathway decisions.
  • Lead co-curricular career-related activities for SOA undergraduate and graduate students in collaboration with the Undergraduate and Graduate (CAC) Career Advancement Center staff.
  • Work with student organizations, particularly around career-readiness events including coordinating their efforts to engage students and employers in collaboration with our Strategic Partnerships Team, Undergraduate and Graduate CAC.
  • Coordinate with SOA faculty to integrate career content and assignments into the curriculum with a focus on leveraging existing CAC sponsored activities and software platforms (VMOCK, Handshake, 12Twenty and more) to support assignment completion.
  • Serve as a liaison between SOA students, employers and alumni and the Undergraduate and Graduate (CAC) Career Advancement Center staff.
  • Facilitate student participation in co- and extra-curricular events and activities, including case competitions, professional development conferences, and experiential learning opportunities.
  • Collaborate closely with SOA leadership, RCB Strategic Partnerships team, and Undergraduate and Graduate (CAC) Career Advancement Center staff to effectively manage relationships with recruiters and other corporate partners.
  • Lead SOA efforts supporting CPA readiness, including CPA advising and test preparedness.
