About The Position

The Associate Director, Production is a critical role within the Indivior Raleigh site Senior Leadership Team (SLT), reporting to the Site Director of Operations. This position directs and manages the drug product value stream within operations, focusing on improving key performance indicators in safety, quality, delivery, and cost. The role involves preparing operation schedules and coordinating manufacturing activities to meet production and quality specifications.

Requirements

  • Bachelor of Science degree in a life science or engineering discipline.
  • Minimum ten (10) years of experience in a regulated industry.
  • Demonstrated performance in a supervisory position.
  • Proficient in managing daily improvement (MDI) facilitation and visual factory concepts in a cGMP/FDA regulated industry.
  • Experience with aseptic processing and prefilled syringe production.
  • Proficiency in establishing performance standards and monitoring performance of direct and indirect reports, with the ability to teach others.
  • Knowledge of product cost accounting and delivering drug product on schedule and at budget.
  • Ability to perform and coach systematic root cause analysis and implement effective countermeasures.
  • Demonstrated proficiency in driving the 5S process and culture in the plant.
  • Practical application of TPM concepts, including autonomous maintenance and performance monitoring through OEE.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills; exceptional attention to detail and documentation.
  • Ability to choose the most effective communication type for a given situation.
  • Demonstrated ability to work effectively in a team and as a leader, appreciating cultural differences and diversity.
  • Ability to build positive relationships and conduct negotiations for win/win solutions.
  • Experience with recruitment, interviewing, and hiring appropriate staffing levels.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and ability to communicate clearly to all levels of the business.
  • Strong planning and organization skills.
  • Proficient in English.

Nice To Haves

  • Post graduate degree is preferred.
  • Ability to facilitate continuous improvement events (value stream mapping, SMED, kaizen) is a plus.
  • Experience in production operations is a plus.
  • Influencing skills in areas with no direct reporting authority.
  • Auditing skills, with appropriate qualifications in auditing is an advantage.
  • Motivated by delivering high-quality patient treatments in the arena of addiction.
  • Fluency in other languages is advantageous.

Responsibilities

  • Contribute to site strategy and culture as an integral part of the SLT, collaborating with cross-functional leaders on continuous improvement initiatives for operational excellence.
  • Accountable for key performance metrics such as machine and labor efficiencies, guiding departmental leaders to meet scorecard objectives and KPI's, and ensuring adherence to customer/production delivery deadlines.
  • Drive and lead the application of Lean and Six Sigma tools and techniques for problem-solving and process improvement.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional leaders to establish continuous improvement initiatives for operational excellence and foster a continuous improvement culture.
  • Support site leadership in managing capacity and optimizing scheduling to meet on-time delivery demands for internal and external customers.
  • Define departmental objectives aligned with business goals.
  • Institute and ensure the implementation of training programs to ensure personnel proficiency.
  • Provide guidance on staffing, training, development, employee relations, and performance management for the production team.
  • Implement engagement plans and initiatives to motivate employees towards achieving goals and routinely evaluate employee performance.
  • Work with Technical/Project Management teams to execute drug product technical transfers on schedule.
  • Ensure the plant complies with OSHA and all local, state, and federal environmental regulations.
  • Maintain the entire value stream in a constant state of inspection readiness.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by the Site Leader.
