About The Position

Zeta is seeking an Associate Director of Pre-K to make a significant impact on early childhood education. The organization is dedicated to providing a world-class education that combines high academic achievement with social-emotional development for students. Zeta operates multiple elementary and middle schools in New York City and plans to expand, opening 1-2 new schools annually. The Network Office for Academic Excellence and School Excellence teams are located at 425 Westchester Ave., Bronx, NY 10455. This role requires in-person work most days, with optional remote days and flexibility during academic breaks.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree
  • At least 5 years of experience with a proven track record of leading exceptional academic outcomes in early childhood education as a School Leader.

Responsibilities

  • Design a rigorous and joyful project-based learning experience for Pre-K students rooted in play, investigation, and collaboration.
  • Develop systems and strategy to ensure the physical, emotional, and psychological safety of all Pre-K students.
  • Lead the Pre-K program to meet rigorous annual academic goals and ensure all students are fully prepared for Kindergarten.
  • Develop authentic relationships across Zeta to collaborate effectively and support student learning.
  • Manage Pre-K curriculum, including unit plans, lesson plans, and assessments, ensuring a coherent sequence of learning.
  • Design and lead early childhood professional learning trainings for school leaders and teachers.
  • Analyze data to identify gaps and ensure leaders and teachers are using data to increase learning outcomes.
  • Develop clear instructional management plans to ensure consistent and excellent implementation of early childhood instruction.
  • Observe instruction across Zeta schools and develop leaders and teachers to ensure high-level programming.
  • Actively seek, provide, and incorporate feedback, fostering a culture of continuous improvement and collaboration.
  • Wear multiple hats as part of a lean scale-up team, supporting others and taking on new projects as needed.
