About The Position

The Associate Director of Philanthropy works with the development team to plan, implement, and coordinate multi-year strategies for corporate, foundation, and individual gift prospects. The role manages a portfolio of qualified donors, builds and maintains relationships, develops donor strategies, and makes direct asks for global and local priorities. The position also identifies opportunities for gifts of assets and other non-cash gifts, including planned gifts and trade lands, and creates donor recognition opportunities to encourage future giving. The role communicates Conservancy programs in detail, discusses legacy giving, understands project budgets, and may develop proposal budgets and proposals. The position may also build referral networks and manage volunteer networks. It uses the Conservancy’s donor database. Once developed, the portfolio will consist of 60–100 donors, including donors with capacity to give more than $250,000. Annual activity goals include 60–100 visits, 180–300 moves, fundraising of $1,000,000 or more, and a bequest-notification goal. The position is based on Oahu and requires regular in-person work. A valid driver’s license and compliance with TNC’s Auto Safety Program are required; employment is contingent on completing a Vehicle Use Agreement, which may include a motor vehicle record review.
