Requirements

  • Minimum six years progressive Meeting, Event, and/or Catering Sales Management experience in a full-service hotel environment
  • Extensive Knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite and Hotel Operational Systems and Software (ie – Delphi, Cvent, Social Tables, Opera, etc)
  • Able to work a flexible schedule including weekends and holidays

Nice To Haves

  • Prior large-volume, upper upscale hotel experience preferred
  • Certified Meeting Planner Designation Preferred

Responsibilities

  • Manage high-profile, complex, or large programs and events requiring a skilled event professional to service
  • Partner with Operational Counterparts to ensure success to include Group Reservations, Group Billing, Revenue Management, Sales & Marketing
  • Implement Loews Hotels Meetings & Events Standards and Best Practices
  • Participate in Group Room Block Strategy – pick up meetings, group rooms forecasting, etc
  • Facilitate training for Meetings & Events department
  • Monitor managers’ production and timeliness for completion and accuracy of BEO, resumes, diagrams, etc
  • Advocates for and contributes to Catering productivity, revenue and strategy
  • Support Director of Meetings and Events in reviewing group turnovers and assigning group business to maintain balanced workload distribution
  • Participate in banquet menu updates, revisions, and pricing strategy
  • Build Banquet Event Orders, Diagrams, Group Resumes, and other event related documentation for operational execution
  • Schedule pre- and post-convention meetings with assigned groups, and attend all pre- and post- convention meetings for all team member groups should Director not be available
  • Prepare recap information at the end of the meeting or convention, comparing forecasted room pickups and meeting/function guarantees with actual figures
  • Lead team in efforts to drive re-booking and return business
  • Conduct comp set analysis and adjust pricing strategy and positioning based on results
  • Attend internal meetings to include resume review, BEO Meeting, staff meeting, etc.
  • Provide onsite support and partnership to in-house groups including presence at major group functions, to meet client needs and expectations for a successful event.
  • Serve as backup for Director in department leadership responsibilities, including conducting internal meetings and submitting reports as needed, assigning groups, managing hourly schedules, etc.
  • All other duties as assigned
